Kid Rock Scalped His Own Tickets

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

So if you’re a Kid Rock fan (you’re probably not reading this blog) but in an article today posted on MSN he goes into detail about scalping tickets to his own show on Stubhub.com for much more than face value.  He discusses the practice by also saying that other people are doing it.  Of course, other people beat their wifes, and murder puppies, and there was that teenage girl that got raped and killer herself so I guess other people do that too….so that rational I totally understand.  But here’s the thing for me.  If this is such a common practice why is he coming clean with it?  And why is he making up for it??

Kid Rock has lifted the lid on the shady practice of ticket re-sales in the  music industry, revealing he is guilty of “scalping” seats to his own shows.

The musician, who recently announced plans for a budget-friendly summer tour,  has confessed his team allegedly resold tickets to his concerts on exchange  website StubHub.com for more than their retail value. Rock made the confession  in an interview with TV host Piers Morgan, telling the presenter he fears many  others artists are making money in the same way.

If you’re so inclined you can hit up this article on msn here…….

Korn to Tour with Brian “Head” Welch

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

Brian “Head” Welch is going out on tour reunited with Korn. Rumor has it there are several festivals in the works as well. If you’re in one of the few areas they have scheduled it would be worth the trip to go see them!!

While a lot of people shunned Head because of his whole “Head To Christ” all about the Jesus thing, I actually dug it because the tunes were killers. And not only had the Korn vibe but the tunes were better than what was coming out of the Korn camp. I dunno call me silly. But check out the video below and judge for yourself.

05/15 Belle Vernon, PA – Ice Garden Arena
05/18 Big Flats, NY – The Summer Stage At Tags
05/21 Silver Springs, MD – The Fillmore
05/22 Montclair, NJ – The Wellmont Theatre
05/23 Bethlehem, PA – Sands Bethlehem Event Center
05/25 St. Louis, MO – Peabody

Alice In Chains Stories on Artist Direct

Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013

It’s been almost 11 years since Layne Staley died. And there is no denying what a huge impact Alice in Chains had on the music world. For me personally that was a dark time in music. Being a product of hot rod musicians from the 80’s then being smacked with Nirvana, it was Aic that carried me through that period. And I have to admit that Jerry had an impact on how I write songs today.

Well the dudes at Artist Direct posted a story yesterday featuring Korn, Slipknot, and several others all discussing Alice in Chains. It’s a great read and can be found HERE…………..

Phil Ramone RIP

Saturday, March 30th, 2013

phil-ramone-

Music producer Phil Ramone, credited for production with artists such has Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Billy Joel has passed away at age 72.

As a native South African, Ramone started his musical performing as a violinist for Queen Elizabeth II at age 10. He also spent many years working as a songwriter, engineer and acoustics expert in New York which would eventually make him a go to engineer/producer for several stars.

According to Ramone’s website listing technical innovations, he was the first to use a solid-state console for recording and mastering solid state records; to use a digital live recording for Billy Joel’s “Songs in the Attic,” “paving the way for the widespread use of the compact disc in the pop music world”; and to use the fiber optics system EDNet to record tracks in “real time” from different locations for Frank Sinatra’s Duets I and II.

If you have some time I totally recommend taking a look at Phil’s website. Especailly if you’re into the production side of music at all.

RIP Phil

My Chemical Romance Breaks Up

Monday, March 25th, 2013

And the sound of Emo tears splashing off of guy liner and skinny girl jeans could be heard around the globe. The jet black oily hair swooping gently covering one eye fell a little lower.

The band has always said they’re not Emo, but Hot Topic frequenters say differently, “Show thy color of blackness and stained sad pants with proudness” they shout “Today is call for all cutters, huffers and crybabies to say screw the system whatever that is” “For I will wear my mall fashion of sadness and despair and carve one sad notch for MCR” For today the misunderstood, (said cloud following Emo kid) has one less reason to live.

Below is the… I dunno, press release, or poem proving they are totally not emo. It starts out with him being sad, then a lil birdie flying into his house and him trying to guide the lil birdy to safety. Then he is happy, then sad, then happy. I think this dude maybe just needs some Paxil and some damn screens.

Emo or not and I tease but this band was pretty huge. Too me it always sucks to see the big ones go down because we currently live in a time where they’re aren’t too many of those left!!

BTW below is a video of them being totally un-emo.

The statement…
