My Chemical Romance Breaks Up

By |March 25th, 2013|Categories: Music News|Tags: , , , |

And the sound of Emo tears splashing off of guy liner and skinny girl jeans could be heard around the globe. The jet black oily hair swooping gently covering one eye fell a little lower. The band has always said they're not Emo, but Hot Topic frequenters say differently, "Show thy color of blackness and stained sad pants with proudness" they shout "Today is call for all cutters, huffers and crybabies to say screw the system whatever that is" "For I will wear my mall fashion of sadness and despair and carve one sad notch for MCR" For today the misunderstood, [...]

2013 Grammy Winners

By |February 11th, 2013|Categories: Music News|Tags: |

The Grammys seems to get more and more generic every year.  I know that artists and... well pretty much everyone always bitch about the Grammys and anything where people can win.  But hey, I wasn't up for one and probably wont be anytime soon at least until they have a (Best loser recording pseudo heavy kind of progressive in his basement) category.  I'm up for that.  But until then here is the list of winners Somebody That I Used to Know,” Gotye and Kimbra Album of the Year “Babel,” Mumford & Sons Song of the Year Jack Antonoff, Jeff Bhasker, Andrew [...]

By |January 7th, 2013|Categories: Music News|Tags: , |

The magical interwebs lit up today with the rumor that the Stones may be playing the Coachella music festival.  I would love to go to Coachella, the Stones seem a bit odd for that festival but what the heck!!   Apparently the rumor got started by a fan that saw the date matching Coachella on the Stones mobile app.  Now the Coachella site shows a round stone on an empty concert field   If you want you can read the rumor HERE.......

Periphery The Coachfire Chronicles

By |January 5th, 2013|Categories: Music News|Tags: , , , , |

When I was working media with the magazine I got to spend time on a few occasions with Misha Mansoor.  It's been really cool to watch Periphery get to where they are now.  The first time I saw them live they had just picked up their singer, started their tour and were in Des Moines, IA all crammed in a 15 passenger van basically scraping by.   But when you saw them live you knew that this was a group of players that could have a sustained amount of success with just the progressive fans alone. So Jeff Holcomb who filled in with [...]

Anthrax Guitar Player Rob Caggiano Taps Out

By |January 5th, 2013|Categories: Music News|Tags: , |

When I first started to get into heavy music was in the mid-late 80's.  I had just started 9th grade and was marching drum line.  I was a huge Van Halen fan at the time (still am).  But I met this dude named Tom who had And Justice on cassette and we cranked that in his Eurosport station wagon for weeks.  From there I was hooked on Metal.  I went from there and got my hands on everything Metallica I could get.  Next up was Anthrax, I LOVED Anthrax. Long time guitarist Rob Caggiano has announced his departure from [...]

Dave Mustaine Hard Core on Men’s Warehouse

By |January 5th, 2013|Categories: Music News|Tags: , , |

I think after having my blog rendered useless by an update I now have everything back up and running.  So you can now sit back and enjoy the worthlessness of the GearZombiee waste of time.  So, now that its the weekend and nobody is looking i'm going to spit out all the news and nonsense I wanted to vomit during the week. Dave Mustaine, heavy metal tough guy.  You know him, the Megadeth drama queen.  Likes to fire guys, cry about Metallica, but in the end if you're an old school metal fan you pay attention.  But don't fuck [...]
