Sevendust new tune “Till Death” Live Video Posted

Monday, February 11th, 2013

So, Sevendust is without a doubt the most under-rated hard rock band on the planet.  They always have discs with killer grooves and hooks.  If you’ve ever met them they are the nicest guys on the planet.  And they in my opinion totally changed the genre.  How many bands came out that sounded just like Sevendust or had elements after they broke out??  Answer….. 14 of the them…. I dunno a lot….  And you know they are just the hardest working band in their genre too.  They are ALWAYS on tour, cranking out new material doing press.  Probably even at like fireman’s pancake breakfasts and stuff.  Saving sick children from burning buildings.  I can’t confirm that but I hear things!!

But here is some footage from what they mentioned will be their 9th studio album playing a new tune called “Till Death” and if you’re a fan this doesn’t disappoint.

MySelfishMe Rears It’s Ugly Head

Sunday, February 10th, 2013

One of the cool things about having your own blog is to be able to promote yourself like someone else is doing it.  In effect creating a perseption like We, Us, I are more signifigant than we are.  Now my problem is, I know what people say when they find out that said person is attempting such shady promotion. So I always find it better to come clean and say hey….  Ain’t nobody else singing our praises yet!!!  FYI i’m pretty sure The Jackson 5 started the exact same way.

Anyway, the band MySelfishMe that is in no way affiliated with the creator of this blog has posted a quick preview pre production snippet of some of their stuff.  A tune named “Fred” and an instrumental “Jihad Overture” So go love it and wait anxiously for more.

Tuesday, January 8th, 2013

If you’re one of those over the top Layne Staley worshipping types, you probably were all about the band Mad Season.  Which honestly had some really cool stuff.

Apparently Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and drummer Barrett Martin had promised to re-release the album “Above” with additional content.

Plans are to include 2 discs and a DVD with relase date is slated for April 16th.  This will include the original 10 song disc, 5 bonus cuts and an unreleased track and all kinds of other grunge goodieness.  A lot more detail can be found HERE… and when you’re done with that, watch the below concert of them live at the Monroe Theater ….

The Rolling Stones Might Be Headlining Coachella Music Festival Maybe Or Something

Monday, January 7th, 2013

The magical interwebs lit up today with the rumor that the Stones may be playing the Coachella music festival.  I would love to go to Coachella, the Stones seem a bit odd for that festival but what the heck!!   Apparently the rumor got started by a fan that saw the date matching Coachella on the Stones mobile app.  Now the Coachella site shows a round stone on an empty concert field   If you want you can read the rumor HERE…….

Periphery The Coachfire Chronicles

Saturday, January 5th, 2013

When I was working media with the magazine I got to spend time on a few occasions with Misha Mansoor.  It’s been really cool to watch Periphery get to where they are now.  The first time I saw them live they had just picked up their singer, started their tour and were in Des Moines, IA all crammed in a 15 passenger van basically scraping by.   But when you saw them live you knew that this was a group of players that could have a sustained amount of success with just the progressive fans alone.

So Jeff Holcomb who filled in with them and I think helped with merch for a bit documented some of their overseas tour with Between the Buried and Me as well as The Safety Fire.  The clip runs 42 minutes and chance and is named The Coachfire Chronicles.  Which was named after their bus the burnt up toward the end of the tour.

Check it out and love what they do!!
