Apple to murder Pandora in cold blood.

Friday, September 14th, 2012

Now, first of I want to say that I am at heart an Apple baby. I love their stuff it really does work great. That being said with the iPhone 5 announcement I am really seriously considering jumping ship to an Android device. I know the popular thing is to say “Android has been doing (insert your function here) for years” But in most cases, the devices are garbage the os is buggy and the UI’s generally suck. But… I want a bigger screen so i’m waiting for the new Moto Razr HD Maxx rather than go after the slightly longer iPhone 5. Its all about girth anyway. Good thing I’m hung like a soup can. But enough about me.

Shares of Pandora stock dropped 20% the other day after Apple anounced that they are developing a service for streaming music and are currently working with labels to hammer out license agreements. This according to an article on Variety found HERE!!!!

So Apple’s patent department, who I think had to be trained by Gene Simmons, patent things like shapes. See they have to so they can sue people who make rectangle phones. But on the flip side they can just kill another business by saying “I’m gonna do that too” Maybe I should try that. It’s like the Jedi mind trick. Perhaps I will start with Jessica Alba… “I can have sex with you better”

Mark Tremonti Project With Wolfgang Van Halen Rehearsal Footage

Thursday, September 13th, 2012

So, some footage was posted this week of the Mark Tremonti project practicing with Wolfgang Van Halen. If you’re not familiar, Mark’s solo project is pretty much bad ass, or asstastic or an asstastrophy of global proportions. At the same time screw Wolfgang for being born into Rock n’ Roll royalty and getting to play with all the cool people right out of the box!!!

I’ve been playing in bands most of my life and I can still only find players that either want me to loan them my gear or teach them how to play theirs. Or of course want to be like Tool. Or record drums with one hanging microphone because they were in the best band ever once that nobody ever heard of. Why does everything have to be perfect and sound good?!!?? Sorry bout that, shrink said I should let things out.

Here is the youtube footage of the practice. And below that is a video of the Mark Tremonti Project tune call You Waste Your Time. Which is exactly what you’ve probably done looking at my website Homie can sing his ass off!!!

Axe Fx II Demo Recto Red Model with V30 Cab Sim The Cake Is A Lie

Wednesday, September 12th, 2012

Axe FX II demo Recto Red Model with V30 Cab sim.   I used the Axe Fx as my interface for this one.  Drums were programmed with Superior 2.0.  Guitar used is an Ibanez S540 with a stock IBZusaF2 Pickup.  From what I read this pickup is when DiMarzio still made Ibanez pickups and this is basically a Tone Zone.  Hope you like the video!!! Tune is called The Cake Is A Lie.

An IceBreaker!

Friday, June 29th, 2012

So, I’m working on setting up a nice lil blog with wordpress.  I thought this would be a good easy way for me to put together a quick functional site in sort of a wysiwyg sort of editor.  Since web development isn’t really my bag of tricks this appeared to be a good solution.  I almost wish I would have just started building a site myself.  Now I’m trying to learn wordpress and build my site.  Just not enough hours in the day.

Anyway, sooner or later this will be done and it will be a nifty resource for all gear nerds!!
