Hannah Ford Current Drummer For Prince

By |October 24th, 2012|Categories: Music News|Tags: , , , |

So it's like this.... Hannah Ford is really really really hot!! It's not just my weakness for blondes (totally my kryptonite) I think I may have watched her vids on the youtubes before I even registered a note to my ears. She is hot if she didn't play drums. I would be a Hannah Ford fan if she just took pictures by drums or mopeds or something. Most girls that age that look like her are busy riding their looks, but Hannah is actually a pretty killer drummer. Now I know you may be thinking blah a chick drummer. I [...]

Peavey AT-200 Auto Tune Electric Guitar!! Pretty Snazzy!

By |October 24th, 2012|Categories: Gear News|Tags: , , , |

So most people when they think AutoTune get this terrible look on their face and think of everything from Cher to almost all of the current pop music of today. Autotune has become a 4 letter word if you will to musicians. And rightly so, today a 18-year-old girl with so so vocal ability can sound killer with just a little auto tune. Now I have always been from the camp that auto tune and pitch correct are different things. Granted it's the same technology but if I have a singer in here and he has a killer take but [...]

Flyleaf announces new singer

By |October 23rd, 2012|Categories: Music News|Tags: , , , |

So Flyleaf replaced singer Lacey Sturm with Kristen May (Vedera) whom I have never heard of. Not as if that's a shocker. But I did check them out because one thing I did dig about Flyleaf was how heavy Lacey could get. Kristen seems to have pipes but everything I found on the youtubes was pretty poppy. Maybe its just what I found! Anyway below is the press release.............................. “New York, NY – A&M/Octone recording group Flyleaf announce the departure of long time singer Lacey Sturm today. The band’s final album with Lacey, New Horizons, will be out on October [...]

Hughes & Kettner Triamp MK II Demo

By |October 22nd, 2012|Categories: Gear Reviews, GearZombie Videos|Tags: , , |

Hughes & Kettner Triamp MK II Demo. Initially I could have cared less what the thing actually sounded like because it is seriously the coolest looking head on the planet!! But I never really gave it a fair shake because I picked up a 6505+ about the same time and was using that live. I found that for heavier playing this head did much better with a drive pedal in the front. In this case a TS-9 as well as an ISP Decimator. Without it, the head breaks up well at higher gain but the sound tends to squish rather [...]

Trent Reznor, David Bryne Talking Major Labels

By |October 16th, 2012|Categories: Music News|Tags: , , |

Times is tough these days. Posting has become slow as my time is being chewed up by everyone on the planet other than myself. But enough about me. All of the musicians I have ever played with have at one point or another thought they were going to be a "Rockstar". Most of my friends grew up out of that. I have a couple of buddies that have been or are working musicians and know that in general there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Even if you are fortunate enough to get into an arena odds [...]

20 Anniversary Edition Box Set of Rage Against The Machine’s Self Titled Album

By |October 10th, 2012|Categories: Music News|Tags: , |

Rage was a game changer for a lot of not only musicians but everyone listening to heavier music in the mid 90's. While most of the radio was being assulted by grunge, some good but a whole lotta bad, Rage was musically about huge groove. Below is and artice from Loudwire.com talking about Sony Legacy releasing this box set with some pretty cool stuff! Sony Legacy Rage Against the Machine and Sony Legacy are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the band’s eponymous debut in a big, big way with the incredibly deluxe release ‘Rage Against the Machine –XX,’ which will [...]

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominations Include Rush, Public Enemy and Deep Purple

By |October 4th, 2012|Categories: Gear News, Music News|Tags: , , , , , |

If you're a musician and shit, maybe if you're not, the R&R HOF can be very confusing. I actually wish they just wouldn't call it the "Rock and Roll" HOF. I don't know who is in it half the time and a lot of the time they're not even Rock anyway. Some people are very passionate about it. Like Eddie Trunk if you ever listen to his stuff or watch That Metal Show. That dude about spits nails when the hall gets mentioned. I think maybe it should just be the Music HOF. Like important acts are snubbed like, Journey, [...]

**New** Jackson DK2M Pro Series Dinky

By |October 4th, 2012|Categories: Gear News|Tags: , , , |

It's a Dinky!!! A DK2M Pro Series Dinky to be exact!! And this looks to be a sexy one!! I like Jackson, they make great stuff, take for example this guitar. It's listed on Jackson's website at $1133.32 MSRP so we know its going to street under that. But let's just say it's $1K. You're still getting actual Seymour Duncan's and a Floyd, maple fret board if you want it. Really you wouldn't have to do much to it if you didn't want to. But go check it out yourself at Jackson's website HERE
